Job Description

The Network Engineer will oversee and execute all aspects of the pre-sales, installation, configuration and maintenance of networked information systems. Responsible for design, development, installation, testing and maintenance of networks linking computers with peripherals like switches, routers, servers, sans, software and virtual servers as well as configurations for integration with communication equipment. Take a pro-active approach to all aspects of service delivery to clients, ensuring client needs are identified and met in line with agreed service standards. You need to be a highly motivated self-starter with great organization and customer service skills. An ability to understand and master various complex networks quickly and accurately.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to following):

  • VMWare and SAN expertise is a highly desired skill for the best candidates
  • Install all new hardware, systems, and software for networks
  • Install, configure and maintain network services, equipment and devices.
  • Supports administration of servers and server clusters
  • Manages all customer system back-up and restore protocol
  • Plans and supports customer network and computing infrastructure
  • Perform troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems
  • Documents network problems and resolution for future reference.
  • Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of networking essentials
  • Oversee software and network security
  • Strong analytical abilities and professional office experience needed
  • Must display accountability along with desire for personal growth and ownership
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Report and maintain trouble tickets for customer billing.

Desired Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

  • VMware and SAN Technology Expertise highly desired
    Certifications: MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, VMWare, Citrix etc
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar deisired but will work with candidates with proper skills and certifications.
  • Systems: Windows, Cisco Systems, UNIX, Linux, Novell, VMWare, Citrix
  • Networking: Switches, Routers, Servers, Firewalls, Sans, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, Latency, QoS, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with quotas and goals
  • Attention to details and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills i.e. written/verbal
